Help Raise Funds for the Prevention of Crime in Athens
by Edwin Childs(go here for the full article)
....Carla Le Fever, the "Athens Hard Rock Queen" and singer of the Carla Le Fever Band, reiterated Hutchins' sentiment while stressing the importance of SCN's mission. "Everything (the members of SCN) are doing is great, "Le Fever said. "We need to have people out there making students-especially girls-aware that they shouldn't be walking around alone, especially late at night."
Discoursing on her philosophy towards the music world, Le Fever further said that more benefit concerts such as this one would be likely to elevate consciousness among performers within the rock industry.
"Deeper levels need to be embraced besides the flesh and the booty," she said."I think there's a new age of spirituality and that people are waking up, because every thought, word, action and deed really does affect the world."...

The Carla Le Fever Band
The Roadhouse

by Chris Hassiotis
Athenian fans of heavy guitar rock may have long overlooked Carla Le Fever.
Maybe it's because she lacks the desire to wink at the audience as she's yowling her heart atop some anthemic, riff-laden rock. And it's this lack of ironic detachment that makes Le Fever's enthusiasm for classic rock so infectious."Rock is supposed to be fun," says Le Fever. "There are some people who focus on money, but man...they've got it wrong. It's about good music, and we like to put on a good show, give people something to watch as well as listen to." And watch people do; Le Fever's oversized arena-filling persona is a perfect match for the blue-collar resurrection that seems to raise the spectre of Foghat or Bad Company (or AC/DC for that matter, who aren't technically dead or broken up, but might as well be).
With Rick Fowler on guitar, Greg Veale on bass and Cal Hale on drums, the Carla Le Fever Band released the album The Path last fall, and has plans to record soon."I'm thinking July," says Le Fever," I've got a lot more songs in the old-school rock vein ,although I've also got lots of sweet pop stuff. I dunno, I might go a little more groove, a little funkier on this new album, something to get the blood pumping."Le Fever also performs with the band Mutual Admiration Society, for whom she reserves said "sweet pop stuff", claiming she likes to "keep different styles for different folks, just depending on the vibe." The Carla Le Fever Band currently spends weekends on its unofficially titled Just Keep On Lovin' No Matter What Tour, hitting smaller bars and clubs in the region.
